I dropped Miriya off at her house. When I got home, I took a quick shower and changed into my pajamas. I checked my phone and saw that I got a text from Geno.
~I know you’re probably sleeping right now, but I just wanted to say good night and I Love You. C u 2morrow. – Geno~
I closed my phone and charged it that night. I got more sleep than I have in a long time.
I woke up at 7:00 that morning to make sure I packed everything. Then I called Miriya.
“Hello?” Miriya asked groggily.
“Hey, I’m going to stop at McDonalds before I come over. Do you want anything?”
“No, I’m eating breakfast right now. When are you going to be here?”
“Give me about 15 minutes.” I replied.
“Ok. See you then.”
I stopped at McDonalds and got a bacon egg and cheese bagel. I got to Miriya’s house, honked, and waited for her to come down.
“Hey, how was your night?” I asked.
“It was good. Not long enough. You?”
“Same.”
We got to the Mellon and parked in the players lot. I stayed in my car so I could finish eating. Miriya spotted Jordan and got out of the car. There was a light tap on the passenger window. I looked over and saw Geno standing there with his coffee. I unlocked the door and he got into the car and immediately adjusted his seat. He looked over at me and started to laugh.
Once I swallowed, I asked, “What?”
“Nothing. You just look really funny stuffing your face.” He said coolly.
I finished my bagel and took a sip of my hot tea.
“Do you need help carrying your bags to the bus?” Geno asked glancing back at out stuff.
“Only if you really want to help.” I said with a smirk.
We got out of the car and grabbed Miriya’s and my things and then walked over to the bus. I relocked my car out of habit. On the bus, Miriya sat next to Jordan, Michelle with Sid and me with Geno. At the beginning of the ride I started to fall asleep and Geno pulled me closer to him and held me while I slept. I woke up about 9:00 and started to have the munchies, so I got out my chex mix and started to eat it. Geno and I talked and laughed for the rest of the ride to Philly.

Geno- Chapter 2

In 2007, Geno came to play on the Pittsburgh Penguins. I had just started working there as equipment manager. I developed great relationships with the guys, but once I met Geno, I knew something was going to be different. The first year had been kind of difficult with him because he didn’t know English. During the summer after that season, we all (aka the team, Miriya, Michelle and I) hung out. A LOT. During which we tried to teach him some English. That’s when Geno’s and my relationship changed. We started to become close friends. Also during that season, Miriya became an announcer for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Michelle became the head physician for them.

The Pens won 3-0. Geno got the first goal by Gonchar. Sidney got a shorthanded goal on a power kill, and Jordan made the third goal which was assisted by Geno and Sidney on the power play. After the game, the guys did their interviews and went to take their showers. While all that was going on, I started to clean up and started to pack the guy’s things together for the away game tomorrow. Once Miriya was done, she came down to congratulate the team. While she was doing that, Geno snuck up behind me, grabbed my arm and pulled me to his stall, setting me on his lap. Miriya saw this and decided to ask me about it later. Max came out of the shower and noticed that I was on Geno’s lap. He whistled and said, “GO GENO!” Simultaneously, we looked over at him and glared.
“Well, I think he’s waiting for us to kiss or something.” Geno said sarcastically.
“Then let’s really give him something to gawk at.”
At that moment, our lips met with a fierce passion. I reached up and linked my hands together behind his neck as he rested his hands on my hips after he pulled me closer to him. (As if I could get any closer.) As we expected, Max’s jaw dropped. We broke free and smiled. I slid off his lap and continued what I was doing so I could get home at a somewhat reasonable hour. Forty-five minutes passed and the only people left in the locker room were me, Miriya, and Geno.
“Hey Cas! Are you ready to go?” Miriya asked.
“Yeah. Let me say good night to Geno.” I replied.
“Hey Geno.”
He walked over and wrapped me in a big hug.
“Good night. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
After I said this, he bend his head down and he gave me a good night kiss.
“Good night baby. See you in the morning.” He said giving me one last hug.
Geno and I grabbed our things, and walked out to the parking lot with Miriya. Once in the car, I waved to Geno one last time.
“So, what was that all about?” Miriya asked curiously.
“What?”
“What was the whole being all over Geno about?”
“Oh, that. Umm… well, when I got in today, he was in the locker room. After he got out, he asked me if I wanted to go get something to eat before the guys got there. When we got back, I was going to try to finish getting the things ready for the guys, but he grabbed my arm and kissed me. Then he told me he really liked me and asked if I wanted to be his girlfriend. I said yes, and then Gronk saw us kissing, and yeah. That’s the whole story. Why?”
“Woah! I guess you two didn’t waste much time, did you?”
“Oh, shut up!!! Don’t act like you didn’t do that with Jordan when you two started going out!” Just then, I turned the radio up so she couldn’t interrogate me more. The rest of the ride home was quiet, with the exception of the blasting radio.

I woke up in a cold sweat.
I start talking to myself, “Oh my gosh! I had that dream again. I was with him and we got close. Real close. I wish I had the courage to go up and talk to him. I mean, it’s not like I never had the chance! He would never go for a girl like me. Would he?”
As I pondered that thought, I went to get something to eat.

“Hey Cassie, what’s up with you?” Miriya asked.
“Oh, nothing. Just thinking about something. That’s all.”
“Well, stop thinking so hard. You’re starting to freak me out a little bit.
We drive to the Mellon.
“So, you ready for the game?” Miriya asked.
I think to myself, as ready as I’ll ever be.
“Yeah, why?”
Just wondering. Geez! What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. I just have a lot on my mind. That’s all.”
“Ok, well, SNAP OUT OF IT! We have a game today, and it’s your job to make sure that everyone has everything that they need! I’ll see you later. I have to go get ready.”
Miriya leaves and I head down to the locker room to make sure everything is in its place, ready for the players. When I get down there, I know that I am not the only one that got to work early that day. I looked over to Geno’s stall and I see that his clothes are there. My heart skips a few beats. I hear the shower turn off. A few minutes later, Geno walks into the locker room only in his towel.
“Hey. Sorry. I thought I would come in early. I didn’t think any one would be here. How are you?” Geno asked as he grabbed his clothes.
“It’s alright. Miriya had to come in early today, and I just thought that I would come in early too. If you want me to leave, I will.” I say, avoiding ALL eye contact possible. It’s really hard though because now he is sitting there, half dressed. He looks SO good! LOOK AWAY!!!
“No, it’s alright. I like the company.”
“Ok then.”
I start to get everything out that needs to be. i.e. the water, tape, skates, helmets, etc. the boys would be SO lost if I wasn’t here.
“Hey Cas?” Geno asked from his stall.
“Yeah Geno?”
“We have some time before the others get here. Would you like to get something to eat or something?”
“Sure.”

Geno’s Thoughts
Wow, she is so hot! Wait. She is my friend! I really shouldn’t be having thoughts like this. Or should I? Should I ask her out? What will she say? If I say anything, will she get wierded out and stop being friends with me?

When they got back to the arena, there was no one there yet. Cassie and Geno went to the locker room.
“Well, I think I should start getting ready.” Geno said.
“Oh, ok. I’m just going to go sit and read a book.”
As I started to walk out, Geno grabbed my arm and turned me around. Before I could object, his hard lips pressed against mine.
“Wha… What was that for?” I asked shocked.
“Cassie, I know we’re just friends, but I’ve been thinking. I don’t know how to say this, but I really like you.”
“I kind of like you too Geno.”
“Would you be my… g-girlfriend?” Geno asked.
“Yes!” I exclaimed!
He turned around still blushing, and still holding on to Cassie’s waist.
“Cassie?” Gronk said sounding confused, “Geno, WHY are you kissing her?!”
“Oh, you don’t know?”
“Know what?” Gronk asked.
“We’re kind of… ummm…. Going out.” Geno said as we both were still blushing.
“Well, good luck with that.” Gronk said.
